Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying the educational discipline "Microcircuits" is the preparation of masters of electronics in circuit design and research of modern microelectronic devices, in particular means of communication, computing equipment, video and audio equipment, sensors, etc.
Завдання: general competences: ZK1. Ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis. ZK4. Ability to conduct research at an appropriate level. ZK8. Ability to communicate with representatives of other professional groups of various levels (with experts from other fields of knowledge/types of economic activity). Professional competences: FС3. Ability to systematically solve problems of development, analysis, calculation, modeling of electronic components, devices and systems of various purposes. FC7. Ability to solve problems of information processing and display in modern electronic devices and systems. FC8. The ability to assess problem situations in the field of development, design, debugging, functioning and operation of electronic components, devices and systems, to formulate proposals for solving problems.
Learning outcomes: GLO 2. Simulate and experimentally investigate objects and processes in electronics and electronic industry technology. GLO 8. Carry out and coordinate the development, selection, use and modernization of the necessary equipment, tools and methods in the organization of the production process, taking into account technical and technological capabilities, modern science-intensive methods, means and technical solutions. GLO 10. Choose optimal research methods, modify, adapt and develop new methods. COM 1. Ability to communicate, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and foreign languages (English, German, Italian, French, Spanish). А&R 2. The ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and acquire new professional knowledge.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: Digital circuitry. Co-requisites: Automated design systems. Physical foundations of electronic equipment. Materials and structures of nanoelectronics.
Summary of the subject: The program of the study discipline "Microcircuits" is designed for students of the Institute of Telecommunications, Radio Electronics and Electronic Engineering who are studying Electronics. As a result of successful study of the course program, the student will learn the theoretical principles of microcircuit engineering and practical skills in circuit design, model and experimental research of modern microelectronic devices. Among them, in particular, are personal computers, mobile phones, household appliances, radio equipment, navigators, sensors, Internet of Things devices. The course has a practical orientation, providing students with opportunities to gain experience in circuit design and research of microelectronics devices. Self-education is considered an integral part of this educational course, and special attention in the program is paid to independent work of students. The program of the course "Microcircuits" covers the following topics: elemental base of modern microcircuits; requirements for microelectronic assemblies and circuits, software configuration and programming of operating modes, safety, galvanic separation, reliability, interference resistance, energy saving. The course covers signal amplifiers, frequency converters, signal compression and decompression, power mode stabilizers, reference voltage sources, digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital signal conversion, programmable logic matrices, signal microprocessors, their purpose and features of application, interference-resistant methods of signal processing, synchro detection. The content of the course is aimed at forming students' understanding of the general trend of the development of microcircuit technology, the ability of students to effectively use the acquired knowledge during practical classes in classrooms and when performing practical independent tasks, the ability to find the necessary information in specialized literature and the Internet.
Опис: Development of the modern element base of microelectronics, requirements for microelectronic equipment. Element base and structures of modern large and ultra-large integrated circuits. Requirements for electronic components and circuits. Signal amplifiers. Frequency converters. Timers. Integrated circuits for special signal processing. Analog signal conversion. Integrated circuits of analog multipliers are the basis of construction of modern multifunctional signal processing circuits. Integrated stabilizers of power modes. Digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital signal conversion, Integrated circuits of digital technology Signal microprocessors, their purpose and features of application. Systems on a crystal (SoC). SoC design process. Libraries of IP blocks. Debugging tools. Programming languages for systems on a crystal – System C, VeryLog, VHDL. Microconverters Analog Devices. Sensor electronics signal converters.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control: practical classes. Final control: exam.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Сurrent control (30%): performance of practical work. Final control (70%): written exam component (50%), oral component (20%).
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
