Learning outcomes: ZN-3 Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of domestic and foreign scientific achievements and practical experience in the field of sociology. ZN-5. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the philosophical methodology of scientific knowledge, psychological and pedagogical aspects of professional and scientific activities, own scientific worldview and moral and cultural values. UM-4. Apply a systematic approach, integrating knowledge from other disciplines in the process of solving theoretical and applied problems in the chosen field of research. UM-5. To combine theory and practice in developing a strategy of analysis and decision-making, solving scientific and applied problems, taking into account universal values, public and state interests. COM-1. Ability to communicate effectively at the professional and public levels in Ukrainian and foreign languages, including the use of modern information and communication tools and technologies. COM-2. Ability to present and discuss the results and transfer the acquired knowledge. AiV-4. Ability to treat the work responsibly, lead the project team and achieve the goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics.

Summary of the subject: Modern trends in world sociology: current areas of analysis of the problems of modern society. Domestic researchers of modern society: the main directions of scientific research. Problems of Ukrainian society in measuring the regional problems of Central and Eastern Europe and the world. A systematic approach to the analysis of socio-humanitarian problems and the role of sociology in it. Socio-technological dimensions of sociological knowledge about modern society and the possibilities of their application in the practices of social change management.
Assessment methods and criteria: • oral interview, participation in discussions, presentation of the research project (40%) • final control (control measure, exam): written and oral form (60%)
