Learning outcomes: The student has to demonstrate - Ability to produce innovative scientific ideas, master the methodology of scientific and pedagogical activities, solve complex problems in the process of innovative research and professional activities, conduct original research at the international and national levels. -Systematic knowledge and understanding of modern scientific theories and innovative technologies in the field of nanomaterials in order to effectively use them in solving applied problems of physics. -Knowledge of modern achievements of innovative technologies in the field of applied physics and nanomaterials; -Knowledge of the main methods of reducing energy consumption and the feasibility of using non-traditional energy sources in the developed technological schemes and structures; -Knowledge of the theory and practice of application of nanoobjects in various fields of industry and energetics. be able: - independently perform research and make findings.

Summary of the subject: Search and systematization of information on the topic of scientific research. Traditional and modern materials of science and technology of applied physics. Methods of computer processing and analysis of research information. Problems of scientific research on the topic of the PhD studies
Assessment methods and criteria: Test (written and oral components), defense of individual scientific work report. - current control: (40 %): defense of report (20%), intermediate control (20%), - final control (60%): test – written component (50%), oral component (10%).
