Learning outcomes: • ability to solve complex problems in the field of international relations, public communications and regional studies, to conduct research and innovation activities, which involves a deep rethinking of existing and creation of new holistic knowledge, as well as the practical implementation of the results. • understand the nature of science, scientific problems, methodological features of scientific knowledge; • ability to search, analyse and critically evaluate information from various sources, synthesize new ideas, understanding the latest research paradigms, strategies and procedures; • initiative, research skills, creativity in generating ideas and achieving scientific goals; • ability to self-develop and self-improvement throughout life, responsibility for training, motivating and managing the work of others to achieve goals; • leadership and ability to both autonomous and team work during project implementation; • thorough knowledge of development trends and important modern (innovative) scientific achievements in the field of international relations and world politics; • deep knowledge and understanding of modern scientific theories and methods, the ability to effectively apply them to the synthesis and analysis of problems and trends in global and regional international systems, mastering the terminology in the field of international relations; • ability to effectively apply methods of analysis, modelling and forecasting in conducting research (design, design, implementation and adaptation of the research process with academic integrity); • ability to integrate knowledge from other disciplines, apply a systematic approach and take into account all available socio-political aspects in solving tasks and conducting research; • ability to develop and implement projects, including own research, which provide an opportunity to rethink existing or create new knowledge; • the ability to justify the choice of method for solving a specialized problem, to critically evaluate the results obtained and to defend the decisions made. • ability to demonstrate knowledge about the role of science in the progress of civilization; historical types of sciences and scientific pictures of the world created by them; features of scientific knowledge; criteria of scientific knowledge; features and consequences of convergence of sciences and modern technologies; • ability to demonstrate knowledge of theoretical and methodological foundations and conceptual and categorical apparatus of professional pedagogy; the essence of the organization of the educational process; modern approaches to planning, organizing and conducting educational, research and educational work with student youth; methodological requirements for the preparation and conduct of training sessions, their educational and methodological support; continuous professional development and pedagogical skills of a research and pedagogical worker. • search, analyse and critically evaluate information from different sources, compare different types of sciences and their methodological features; • apply knowledge and understanding solving problems of synthesis and analysis of elements and systems of global and regional level, characteristic of the chosen field of research; • to study and model phenomena and processes in complex, dynamic global and regional systems of international relations; • apply a systematic approach, integrating knowledge from other disciplines and taking into account socio-political aspects in solving theoretical and applied problems of the selected field of research; • combine theory and practice, as well as make decisions and develop a strategy for solving scientific and applied problems, taking into account universal values, social, state and professional interests; • find, analyse, interpret information and form a base of professional knowledge, independently conduct research and apply research skills; • assess the feasibility and feasibility of new methods and technologies in the study of international relations and world politics; • design goals, objectives, content and learning outcomes, develop and use didactic tools for methodological support of training, analyse and statistically process the learning outcomes of students; to establish communication processes with students, colleagues, the public. • ability to treat the work responsibly and achieve the set goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics.

Summary of the subject: Acquaintance with the requirements for writing a dissertation, its approbation. Clarification of the topic of research work through the formulation of a scientific problem and the specification of the goal. Problems of choosing a research methodology. Determining the purpose of the study, the scientific novelty of the topic, the theoretical significance of the work. Historiography of the study and features of its collection. Conducting empirical research in preparation for the dissertation. Features of writing abstracts of speeches at the conference. Stages of preparation and features of writing, publication of articles in domestic professional publications of groups "A" and "B". Stages of preparation and features of writing, publishing articles in foreign professional publications, including indexed in scientometrics databases Scopus and Web of Science. Features of work on the text of the dissertation and its structural units. Choosing the style of design of sources and mastering its features.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control (40%): oral examination, reports, discussions, writing essays, case-study research, preparation of presentations on a given topic). Final control (60%): offset.
