Learning outcomes: - must know the structure of metals and alloys; means the automated control of production processes and equipment branch of foundry manufactory; - be able to organize the measurement of physical, electrical, magnetic and other variables, and give an assessment of their accuracy for quality control and certification equipment; choose research methods of processes, materials and their properties in accordance to the put task; to use destructive and non-destructive quality control methods foundry products.

Summary of the subject: Classification methods of casting. Casting into the investment casting. Casting in chill. Die Casting. Molding under controlled pressure. Centrifugal casting. Other special types of casting (for models that gasification, the models obtained by laser stereolithography, continuous and semicontinuous casting plants, with sequential filling and crystallization, squeezing, electroslag, melted models casting artistic destination, in shell form).
Assessment methods and criteria: - written reports from laboratory and practical work, oral questioning (30%); - final control (70%, exam): written-oral form.
