Learning outcomes: • Know the methods of computer diagnostics of cars. • Know the standards and protocols of data transmission for electronic control systems for gasoline and diesel engines, stability, automatic transmission, on-board equipment and microclimate in the car. • Be able to compose algorithms for troubleshooting electronic car control systems. • Be able to diagnose sensors and actuators of electronic vehicle control systems. • Be able to diagnose sensors and actuators of electronic vehicle control systems. • Be able to identify and interpret fault codes for electronic control units. • Be able to use modern equipment for computer diagnostics of cars.

Summary of the subject: Procedure for diagnosing car mechatronic systems, element-by-element diagnostics of sensors and actuators of electronic car control systems. Construction of diagnostic model and algorithms for computer diagnostics of car mechatronic systems. Technical means of computer diagnostics of cars.
Assessment methods and criteria: • performance of practical work (10%), performance of laboratory work (15%), control work (15%) • final control (tests (50%), oral examination (10%)): written-oral form (60%)
