Learning outcomes: • Knowledge of the physical foundations of telemetry and their application in communication systems; • Knowledge of the main types of signals used in telecommunications of motor vehicles; • Knowledge of the peculiarities of the passage of signals in the receiving and transmitting paths of telecommunication systems of automotive equipment and service equipment; • Knowledge of terms, categories, basic knowledge of modern theory of signal transmission; • Knowledge of the mathematical apparatus for describing the basic physical processes of signal transmission and interference and methods of ensuring the ultimate characteristics of communication systems in terms of both reliability and speed of information transmission; • Knowledge of the principles of planning the development of telemetry systems of the transport network. • Ability to analyze basic telemetry processes in mechatronic systems of vehicles and maintenance facilities.

Summary of the subject: Methods of telemetry. Quantitative evaluation of telemetric information. Adaptive procedures. Telemetry sensors. Channels and transmission lines. Processing and analysis of telemetry information. Positioning systems. Communication systems. Dispatching systems.
Assessment methods and criteria: • performance of practical works, performance of control works (30%) • final assessment (tests (60%), oral examination (10%)): written-oral form (70%)
