Learning outcomes: - be able to analyze the traction electric drive systems of the car; - know the structure and basic principles of traction batteries of cars with hybrid power plants and electric cars; - be able to analyze car systems with hybrid power plants and their characteristic modes of operation; - be able to synthesize the control system of the power plant of a hybrid car as a control object; - know the structure and basic principles of operation of cars on fuel cells; - know and analyze alternative energy sources of cars; - be able to model and choose rational schemes of power plant for efficient use of energy of power plants of the car; - possession of sufficient knowledge in the field of road transport, which will allow to critically analyze the situation and identify key trends in the industry; - know the basic principles and methodology of assembly of power units by types and performance characteristics of the vehicle; - knowledge of modern computer modeling systems and automated design of technical systems; - identify ways to reduce harmful emissions from cars through design and technological changes at all stages of the car life cycle; - to develop measures to increase operational efficiency, fuel economy and improve the environmental performance of vehicles in operation; - be able to operate and maintain hybrid and electric car drives, mechatronic diagnostic and control and measuring systems; - ability to communicate, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and English; - ability to use various methods, in particular modern information technologies, for effective communication at professional and social levels; - ability to adapt to new situations and make appropriate decisions; - ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and acquire new professional knowledge; - the ability to be responsible in the work performed, to make decisions independently, to achieve the goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics.

Summary of the subject: During the study of this discipline the student acquires theoretical and practical knowledge and skills to determine the characteristics of hybrid and electric car drives. Learns to analyze and synthesize the structural principles of construction of power plants and choose the best depending on the operating conditions of the car. To make a mathematical model of the car by means of which it is possible to carry out comparative researches of traction and speed characteristics of cars with various power plants. Know the basic concepts of creating environmentally friendly vehicles.
Assessment methods and criteria: - current control (30 %): written reports on practical work (30%), oral questioning. - the final test (70 %, inspections, and examination): written exam (60 %) and oral form (10%).
