CSP701. The ability to calculate and analyze the processes of heat and mass exchange, hydrogas- and aerodynamics from the point of view of fundamental physical laws, principles and knowledge;
CSP705. Ability to apply elements of reliability theories, optimization, other mathematical and numerical methods for the design of new, reconstruction of existing HVAC systems;
CSP706. The ability to perform experimental studies, to carry out field tests of HVAC systems, to know modern instrumentation and research methods, as well as to describe, analyze and critically evaluate the results of research.
Learning outcomes: RS01. Apply basic theories, methods, and principles of mathematical, natural, social, humanistic, and economic sciences, modern models, methods, and decision-making support software to solve complex construction and civil engineering problems.
PRS701. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the basics of heat and mass transfer, hydrogas and aerodynamics, which take place in the technological processes of heat and gas supply, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
PRS702. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the sections of mathematics relevant to the basic level of processes of HVAC systems: differential and integral calculus, algebra, functional analysis, statistics, etc.
KN1. Conceptual scientific and practical knowledge, critical understanding of theories, principles, methods and concepts in the field of professional activity and/or education.

Summary of the subject: The main principles of the theory of heat conduction, convective heat transfer, heat transfer due to phase transformations, radiation heat transfer, heat transfer, molecular and convective diffusion are outlined. Information on the thermal calculation of heat exchangers and mass-mass transfer exchangers, which take place in HVAC systems, is given.

Опис: Heat and mass transfer processes in HVAC systems are an integral part of heat and gas supply and ventilation. Methods of heat transfer. Heat balances. Thermal conductivity. Fourier's law of thermal conductivity. Thermal conductivity coefficient. Differential equation of thermal conductivity. Thermal resistance of thermal conductivity of homogeneous and multilayer flat wall. Linear thermal resistance of thermal conductivity of homogeneous and multilayer cylindrical wall. Convective heat transfer. The basic law of convective Newton-Richman heat transfer. Heat transfer coefficient. Thermal heat transfer resistance. The concept of free and forced convection. Laminar and turbulent flow regimes. The concept of hydrodynamic and thermal boundary layers. System of differential equations of convective heat transfer. Differential heat transfer equation. Application of similarity theory in the study of heat transfer processes. Similarity constants. Numbers (criteria) of similarity. Similarity equation. The concept of the method of dimensional analysis and its application to obtain similarity equations. Experimental method of obtaining criterion equations of heat transfer. Calculated dependences for determining convective heat transfer coefficients. Radiant heat transfer. Basic laws of radiant heat transfer. Planck's law. The Law of Wine. Stefan-Boltzmann law. Kirchhoff's law. Lambert's law. Heat exchange by radiation of a system of bodies. Heat transfer. Complex heat transfer. Total heat transfer coefficient. Heat transfer between two liquids (gases) through a flat single-layer wall separating them. Heat transfer coefficient. Heat transfer through a multilayer flat wall. Thermal resistance of heat transfer. Methods of intensification of heat transfer. Thermal insulation. Classification of heat exchangers. Fundamentals of thermal calculation of heat exchangers of recuperative type.
Mass transfer. Basic concepts and definitions. Molecular diffusion, Fick's first law, molecular diffusion coefficient. Stationary one-dimensional molecular diffusion. Convective mass transfer. The basic law of convective mass transfer. Mass transfer coefficient. The concept of diffusion boundary layer. System of differential equations of convective (vortex) mass transfer. Fick's second law. Diffusion numbers of Nusselt (Sherwood number) and Prandtl (Schmidt number). Analogy of heat and mass transfer. Heat and moisture exchange of air with water.
Assessment methods and criteria: Cumulative point-rating system, which involves evaluating students for all types of classroom and extra-curricular educational and scientific activities, aimed at mastering the educational load of the educational and professional program: current control, laboratory reports, oral presentations, defense of course projects and graphic and calculation works, written and oral exams and assessments; practice on the subject of the magister's qualification work, defense of the magister's qualification work.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control (laboratory works - 20 points, oral examination - 20 points); final control (60 points, control measure, written and oral form, exam).
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100-88 points - certified with an “excellent” grade - High level: the student demonstrates an in-depth mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline, systematic knowledge, skills and abilities of their practical application. The mastered knowledge, skills and abilities provide the ability to independently formulate goals and organize learning activities, search and find solutions in non-standard, atypical educational and professional situations. The applicant demonstrates the ability to make generalizations based on critical analysis of factual material, ideas, theories and concepts, to formulate conclusions based on them. His/her activity is based on interest and motivation for self-development, continuous professional development, independent research activities, implemented with the support and guidance of the teacher. 87-71 points - certified with a grade of “good” - Sufficient level: involves mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline at an advanced level, conscious use of knowledge, skills and abilities to reveal the essence of the issue. Possession of a partially structured set of knowledge provides the ability to apply it in familiar educational and professional situations. Aware of the specifics of tasks and learning situations, the student demonstrates the ability to search for and choose their solution according to the given sample, to argue for the use of a particular method of solving the problem. Their activities are based on interest and motivation for self-development and continuous professional development. 70-50 points - certified with a grade of “satisfactory” - Satisfactory level: outlines the mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline at the average level, partial awareness of educational and professional tasks, problems and situations, knowledge of ways to solve typical problems and tasks. The applicant demonstrates an average level of skills and abilities to apply knowledge in practice, and solving problems requires assistance, support from a model. The basis of learning activities is situational and heuristic, dominated by motives of duty, unconscious use of opportunities for self-development. 49-00 points - certified with a grade of “unsatisfactory” - Unsatisfactory level: indicates an elementary mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline, a general understanding of the content of the educational material, partial use of knowledge, skills and abilities. The basis of learning activities is situational and pragmatic interest.
