Specific admission requirements: An applicant must have the higher education document of state standard of the first level (bachelor)and pass the creative competition.
Specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning: The recognition of foreign higher education is made by Lviv Polytechnic National University. There are no mechanisms for the recognizing of informal education.
Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements: Full implementation of the educational program and defense of master's qualification work.
Characteristics of the educational program: The educational-professional program is based on well-known positions and results of modern scientific researches in the field of: architecture theory and urban planning, architectural design, landscape architecture, regional planning. There is possible the further professional and scientific career growth within these topical specializations.
Програмні результати навчання: - Have knowledge of basic concepts, terms and meanings of the language of professional communication in the field of architecture and urban planning, adhere to the norms of academic integrity;
- apply software, modern IT technologies, information resources in the process of solving research and design architectural and urban planning problems;
- to organize and carry out effective communications within collective, to combine independent and collective work on complex architectural and town-planning projects;
- take into account energy efficient and other innovative technologies, promote the ideas of sustainable development, humanization and harmonization of the environment in making integrated architectural and urban planning decisions;
- identify the specifics of the design of complex architectural and urban planning objects, develop comprehensive planning projects, buildings and interiors, taking into account current global trends and innovations;
- to design architectural buildings and constructions in the historically formed urban environment taking into account prospects of development of territories, regional features of architecture;
- ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis;
- ability to act on the basis of professional ethics;
- ability to apply knowledge in practical situations;
- knowledge and understanding of the subject area and understanding of professional activity;

- ability to scientific analysis, development and justification of architectural and urban planning solutions taking into account natural and climatic, sanitary and hygienic, safe engineering, energy saving, environmental, technical and economic requirements;
- knowledge and understanding of the peculiarities of production, use of modern building materials and technologies in making innovative design decisions for the exteriors and interiors of buildings and structures, in the reconstruction and restoration of historical and modern monuments of architecture and urban planning;
- knowledge and understanding of theoretical and practical methodological foundations of architectural design, the basics of typology of buildings and structures, urban, architectural, environmental and landscape objects;
- professional means of project modeling, execution of technical images by methods and techniques of artistic and computer graphics for use in scientific and theoretical research, architectural design and landscape design, in projects of reconstruction and restoration of architectural monuments;
- ability to practice in the field of interior design, understanding of the functional, constructive foundations of the development of interior elements and the subject environment;
- ability to understand the theoretical and practical principles of designing residential, public, industrial and innovative typological groups of buildings and structures, their design basis, methods of achieving rational architectural and planning, spatial solution, energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, harmonization with the environment.
Academic mobility: There is possibility of students mobility based on bilateral agreements between the Lviv Polytechnic National University and universities of Ukraine or higher educational institutions of foreign partner countries.
Work placement(s): The program provides practice on the theme of master's qualification work in volume of 6 credits.
