Learning outcomes: Ability to solve complex problems and problems during professional activities in the field of electrical engineering in the field of atomic energy, or in the process of education, which involves the application of theories and methods of the industry, research and / or innovation, and is characterized by the complexity and uncertainty of conditions and requirements. - knowledge and understanding of mathematical principles necessary for solving engineering problems and performing research in the field of nuclear energy; - apply knowledge and understanding to solve problems, analyze elements and systems specific to your chosen specialization.
Required prior and related subjects: • The theory of nuclear reactors • Heat transfer in nuclear installations • Nuclear power reactors • Operational control of the nuclear power plant unit • Emergency processes and safety systems at nuclear power plants • Operation of nuclear power plants
Summary of the subject: Nuclear fission energy. Nuclear reactor kinetics. General provisions of the kinetics of the reactor. Reactor period and reactivity units. Kinetics of cold reactor without delayed neutrons. Subcritical reactor kinetics. Parameters that determine the capacity of the reactor and the rate of its change. There was a reactivity and a step change in reactivity. Effects and reactivity coefficients and their change during reactor operation. The change in the isotopic composition of the fuel over time. Reactor poisoning. Nuclear reactor energy.
Assessment methods and criteria: • reports on practical work, oral questioning (30%) • final control (control measure - exam): written and oral form (70%)
