Learning outcomes: • to develop modern technologies for wastewater of various origin; • to choose the best settings and optimize processes of air conditioning wastewater; • to assess the impact of technological factors on the yield and composition; • to use scientific data on the development of technologies for wastewater treatment selection and justification of optimal technologies; • to develop purification systems of gas emissions and solid wastes disposal processes.
Required prior and related subjects: • General chemical technology; • Processes and equipment of chemical production; • The theoretical basis of chemistry and technology of water; • Chemical processes in the preparation of natural waters; • Basics of technological design of productions.
Summary of the subject: Classification of wastewaters. Sewage systems and waste water schemes. Selection the method of wastewater treatment. Determination the necessary degree of purification. Mechanical wastewater treatment. Chemical methods of wastewater treatment. Physico-chemical methods of wastewater treatment. Destructive methods of sewage treatment, biological wastewater treatment. Disposal of wastes produced during wastewater treatment.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory work, oral examination (30%); • final control (70% control measure, exam), written-oral form (70%).
