Major: Technical Electrochemistry
Code of subject: 7.161.03.E.045
Credits: 5.00
Department: Chemistry and Technology of Inorganic Substances
Lecturer: Doctor of Science, prof. Kuntyi Orest Ivanovych
Semester: 2 семестр
Mode of study: денна
Learning outcomes: • To know the types of nanosystems and nanomaterials that exhibit electro-catalytic properties: metallic, bi-and polymetallic; metal oxide, composite. Know the directions of application of nanosystems and nanomaterials: anode and cathode materials in fuel cells, electrochemical sensors, electrolysis syntheses of organic and biologically active substances. • Able to conduct the research of concrete information in scientific literature (periodic, patent, monographic) from nanochemistry and nanotechnologies and network the Internet and independently to analyses her and to register in the form of reports, abstracts and presentations. • To have an idea about directions of development of nanoscience and nanoengineering, research trends and applications in electrochemical catalysis.
Required prior and related subjects: • Inorganic chemistry. • Organic chemistry. • Physical chemistry.
Summary of the subject: The study of the current state of science "Nanoscience" and its part "Nanochemistry" and nanotechnology, which includes a thorough understanding of the mechanism of catalytic action of nanosystems, nanomaterials, nanocomposites. Nanoscale effect in catalysis. Areas of application of nanostructured materials in electrocatalysis.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Writing of abstracts from chemistry and engineering of nanomaterials by the topic specialization (70%) • The oral presentation (slides) of material of abstracts (30%)
