Learning outcomes: The learning outcomes of this discipline provide and detail the following program learning outcomes: - basic facts, concepts, principles and theories related to chemistry, mechanisms and principles of chemical transformations of substances; - theoretical foundations of technologies for the production of chemicals, as well as materials and products based on them; - methods of chemical and physico-chemical analysis of raw materials, chemical products and products based on them; - modern technologies of chemical production; - select and apply knowledge and understanding of chemistry to solve qualitative and quantitative problems in chemical production; - classify and analyze problems of different nature and make a plan to solve them; - assess the impact of technological factors on the composition of the final product; - summarize the data obtained as a result of laboratory research and measurements, in terms of their significance, and correlate them with the relevant theory; - to establish the connection of the obtained data with the results of mathematical modeling of chemical and chemical-technological processes; - explain the reasons for the risks associated with the use of chemicals and laboratory procedures; - to study the influence of physico-chemical factors on the properties of the object of study or design; - carry out qualitative and quantitative analysis of substances of inorganic, organic and biological origin, using appropriate methods; - express a desire to work independently; - present the results of different types of work (research, search, design, etc.) in Ukrainian and one of the foreign languages; - adhere to workplace safety. Organize measures for labor protection and life safety; - ability to use various methods, including modern information technologies, for effective communication at the professional and social levels; - ability to adapt to new situations and make appropriate decisions; - ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and acquire new professional knowledge; - ability to be responsible in the work performed, to make decisions independently, to achieve the goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics; - ability to apply measures for environmental protection, labor protection and life safety.

Summary of the subject: Classification of wastewaters. Sewage systems and waste water schemes. Selection the method of wastewater treatment. Determination the necessary degree of purification. Mechanical wastewater treatment. Chemical methods of wastewater treatment. Physico-chemical methods of wastewater treatment. Destructive methods of sewage treatment, biological wastewater treatment. Disposal of wastes produced during wastewater treatment.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory work, oral examination (30%); • final control (70% control measure, exam), written-oral form (70%).
