Learning outcomes: By the end of the study learners are expected to be able to: - know the modern approaches, mathematical methods and algorithms for information protection in information networks; - be able to apply the acquired knowledge in solving practical tasks of information security in information networks.

Summary of the subject: Basic methods of cryptography, mathematical principles of information protection in modern cryptographic systems, algorithms of the practical implementation of the basic methods of information security, computational complexity of cryptographic algorithms, principles of cryptographic systems creation, principles of implementation of modern cryptographic protocols.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control (40%): practical tasks, reports on laboratory works, oral presentations. Final control (60%): exam.
