Learning outcomes: • to know setting of basic problems of control theory and their research methods; • to be able to formulate mathematical problems of control theory and solve them; • to be aware of using the basic concepts of control theory in various fields of knowledge and in the disciplines of their professional purposes.

Summary of the subject: Problems of optimal control systems, phase trajectory method, method of harmonic linearization, observation and control of control systems, method of variational calculus in theory of optimal control systems, dynamic programming method, the Pontryagin maximum principle.
Assessment methods and criteria: • practical classes, oral interviews, design work (30%) • final control (70%): combined written and oral exam
