Learning outcomes: 1. Demonstrate knowledge of scientific concepts, methods and means of converting and processing signals and images for automation tasks. 2. Knowledge of the basic approaches of conversion and processing of signals and images for automation tasks 3. Knowledge of basic methods of transformation and processing of signals and images for automation tasks. 4. Ability to use the acquired knowledge of signal and image processing for automation tasks.

Summary of the subject: Basic concepts and algorithms for discrete (two-dimensional and three-dimensional) Fourier transforms. Digital filtering and compression of signals and images in automation systems. Calculation of digital filters in MATLAB environment. Wavelet converting signals and images to MATLAB. Correlation functions for signal and image processing.
Assessment methods and criteria: - written reports on laboratory works, oral questioning (30 %) - final control (control measure - exam): written and oral form (70 %)
