Learning outcomes: - principles of construction and functioning of up-to-date electric, microprocessor, pneumatic and hydraulic elements, devices, regulators and instruments as well as typical automation devices (AD); - methods for defining the static and dynamical characteristics and reliability of AD; - fundamentals of creating the automatic control systems based on specific AD.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites and co-requisites: - Automatic Control Theory; - Modeling of Controlled Plants; - Electronics and Microcircuits Engineering; - Technological Measurements and Devices; - Microprocessor Engineering; - Actuators and Valves in Automatic Control Systems
Summary of the subject: Classification of technical instruments for automation. Aggregation and block-module principle of devices construction. Basic characteristics of reliability of technical instruments for automation. Metrological characteristics of automation instruments, normalization and analysis of accuracy of automatic systems. Review of development and fundamentals of construction of pneumatic instruments for automatic control. Pneumatic and hydraulic regulators. Electrical instruments for automation, peculiarities and field of application (regulators of KASKAD, KONTUR systems). Microprocessor controllers for automation of technological processes (PROTAR110, SIEMENS, MICROL). Development of typical functional diagrams of automatic control.
Assessment methods and criteria: - written reports on laboratory works, oral questioning (30%); - final control (control measure - exam): written and oral form (70%).
