Мета вивчення дисципліни: Mastering knowledge and skills regarding research methodology in finance at different levels of the financial system.
Завдання: The study of the academic discipline involves the formation of the following competencies in the students of education: integral: The ability to solve complex tasks and problems in professional activity or in the process of learning in the field of finance, banking and insurance, including of an innovative nature, which involves the application of theories and methods of financial management, conducting research and is characterized by the uncertainty of conditions and requirements for professional and research activities. General: ZK1. Ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis; ZK2. Ability to communicate in a foreign language. ZK3. Ability to conduct research at an appropriate level. ZK6. Interpersonal skills. Special (professional): SK1. The ability to use the fundamental patterns of development of finance, banking and insurance in combination with research and management tools to carry out professional and scientific activities. SK4. The ability to evaluate the effectiveness of scientific, analytical and methodical tools for justifying management decisions in the field of finance, banking and insurance. SK6. Ability to apply interdisciplinary approaches to solving complex tasks and problems in the field of finance, banking and insurance. SK7. Ability to search, use and interpret information necessary for solving professional and scientific tasks in the field of finance, banking and insurance. SK8. Ability to apply innovative approaches in the field of finance, banking and insurance. SK10. Ability to perform scientific research in the field of finance, banking and insurance, taking into account the tasks and existing limitations.
Learning outcomes: PLO 01. To use the fundamental laws of the development of finance, banking and insurance in combination with research and management tools to carry out professional and scientific activities. PLO 02. To know at the level of the latest achievements the main concepts and methodologies of scientific knowledge in the field of finance, banking and insurance. PLO 04. Search, process, systematize and analyze information necessary for solving professional and scientific tasks in the field of finance, banking and insurance. PLO 05. Communicate freely in a foreign language orally and in writing on professional and scientific issues, present and discuss research results. PR07. To solve ethical dilemmas based on the norms of the law, ethical principles and universal human values. PLO 08. Be able to apply and manage innovative approaches in the field of finance, banking and insurance. PR14. To substantiate the relevance of research, the possibility of achieving the set goals taking into account the available resources, to put forward hypotheses, to argue conclusions based on the results of research. KN1. Conceptual knowledge acquired in the process of education and professional activity, including certain knowledge of modern achievements, in particular, the priorities of scientific research in the financial sphere at the current stage of economic development. AB1. Solving complex, unpredictable tasks and problems in specialized areas of professional activity and/or training, which involves the collection and interpretation of information (data), the selection of methods and tools, the application of innovative approaches for different levels and stages of scientific research, which allow for professional research and financing of scientific developments. KOM2. Ability to effectively form a communication strategy. AR3. Ability to further study with a high level of autonomy. Teaching and learning methods Lectures, seminars, practical classes: method of problem presentation, method of working in small groups, reproductive method. Independent work: reproductive method, research method. Methods of assessing the level of achievement of learning outcomes: Current control: - Testing; - Oral sample interview; - Implementation and protection of practical works. - Execution and protection of an individual task; Examination control: - Testing or performing an individual task; - Oral interview.

The discipline is one of the important mandatory educational disciplines of master's training, which ensures students' mastery of professional theoretical knowledge and practical skills in research competencies. The discipline lays the scientific foundations and skills of professionally oriented research activity of future specialists, forms a complex of knowledge and skills regarding the organization and conduct of research in the financial sphere.
Опис: The subject of study of the academic discipline "Methodology of research in finance" is the theoretical and practical foundations of scientific research in the field of finance. The discipline is one of the important mandatory educational disciplines of master's training, which ensures that students acquire professional theoretical knowledge and practical skills in research competencies. The discipline lays the scientific foundations and skills of professionally oriented research activity of future specialists, forms a complex of knowledge and skills regarding the organization and conduct of research in the financial sphere. Scientific research in finance. General logical methods in financial research. Empirical methods in financial research. Scientific approaches to financial research. Research directions and types of scientific activity. Academic integrity. Methodology of efficiency research in the financial sphere. Methodological principles of state policy research in the field of science. Methodological principles of the study of funding of science.
Assessment methods and criteria: - Current control: (test survey; oral survey in practical classes; work in small groups; completion of an individual task (optional) and its defense. - Final control: passing the exam (written and oral components).

Practical classes, work in small groups ( 45%); • final control (55% - examination control): written component (30%), oral component (25%).
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is given for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
