Learning outcomes: • to know the basic concepts of the theory and principles of constructing and functioning of information systems, subsystems, instrumental tools intended for design and exploitation of information systems in electrical engineering, power and electromechanical engineering; • the ability to choose and apply modern software and information techniques for the research into the practical problems of electrical and electromechanical engineering; • the ability to analyze the operation modes of electrotechnical systems based on the results of mathematical modeling and usage of specialized programming tools for information systems.

Summary of the subject: Information measurement technology. Fundamentals of information measurement systems design. Classification and principles of information systems construction. Structure of information measuring system, multichannel data processing devices. Features of database and information systems construction in electrical engineering, electromechanics and electric power industry. Models and types of data. Relational data model. Structured SQL query language. Database designing and usage. Information and measuring technologies. Principles of information measurement systems construction. Methods and means of information transmission. Information-measuring systems in networks. Computer systems of automated dispatching control of measuring devices. Telemechanical systems. Simplex and duplex systems of telemechanics. Systems of telemetering and telesignalization, and remote control.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory course, oral questioning (30%); • final control (control event – exam): written and oral form (70%).
