Specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning: Applicants for the Master’s Degree are obliged to prove the recognition of their Bachelor’s level which is arranged by Lviv Polytechnic National University. There are no possibilities for recognizing non-formal and informal education.
Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements: Successful fulfilment of the Master’s educational and qualification level of appropriate year of enrollment. Fulfilment of the curriculum elements, including the Master’s Thesis internship and Master’s Thesis defence.
Characteristics of the educational program: The aim of educational and professional program is to train specialists capable of solving complex specialized tasks and practical problems of professional activity in the field of international relations, foreign policy and international communication, characterized by complex and uncertain conditions, providing for research and / or innovations.
Gained competence: - to know and understand the nature, sources and areas for the development of international relations, international politics, foreign policy of countries, the state of theoretical research of international relations and world politics; - to review critically and analyze global processes and their impact on international relations; - to know the basic principles and norms of national legislation of different states in the field of information relations and intellectual property; - to know and understand the role of information systems and technologies in the processes of formation of civil society and democratization, as well as ensuring national security.
- to apply modern scientific approaches, methodologies and techniques to study the problems of international relations and foreign policy; - to analyze and evaluate problems of international and national security, international and internationalized conflicts, approaches, methods and mechanisms of ensuring security in the international arena and in foreign policy of states; - to collect, process and analyze information on the status of international relations, world politics and foreign policy of states; - to identify, assess and forecast political, diplomatic, security, social and other risks in the field of international relations and global development; - to evaluate and analyze international and foreign policy problems and situations, propose approaches to solving such problems; - to carry out professional oral and written translation from / into a foreign language, in particular, on professional topics of international cooperation, foreign and world policy; - to formulate tasks for modelling, create and research models of objects and processes of international relations, foreign policy, social communication and regional studies; - to give advice to stakeholders on current issues of international relations and foreign policy of Ukraine, especially in the information sphere; - to apply methods of information and analytical activity to perform applied tasks in the field of international relations, including the detection and analysis of manipulative technologies in international relations and social communication; - to use information technologies and systems to realize own constitutional rights and interests.
- to communicate freely in state and foreign languages orally and in written form on professional and scientific issues; - to prepare analytical papers, reports and other documents on the state of international relations, foreign policy, social communication and regional studies; - to participate in professional discussions in the field of international relations, foreign policy, social communication and regional studies, respect opponents and their views, convey information, ideas, problems, solutions and personal experience on professional issues to experts and the general public.
Academic mobility: Not provided, but windows of mobility are encouraged in accordance with ECTS procedures
Work placement(s): Master’s Thesis internship is intended to study questions analyzed in the Master's Thesis on the basis of actual state of things, which exists within internship bases such as ventures and organizations.

Occupational profiles of graduates: International Information Analyst in the field of foreign policies of the European states research, interpreter. Master’s field of activity is related to historical and political, legal and economic consistent patterns and trends of the European states development. The master is able to provide consulting services on choosing and realizing optimal strategies of domestic and external policies of the European states applying informational and communicational technologies.

Other program features: Some components are available to be studied in English. Educational and professional program includes two specialties: Applied Information Analysis and Forecasting of Global and Regional Processes; Information and Analytical Support of Foreign Policies of the European States. Laboratory works are carried out in computer classes arranged with necessary equipment, linked in local networks and connected to the Internet. Students can use modern software, which is intended to apply computer modelling in the sphere of analysis and prognosis.
