Learning outcomes: • to demonstrate knowledge of fundamental principles and norms of the national legislation of states on information relations and intellectual property; • to demonstrate knowledge of research concepts and methodology in the field of international relations, social communications and regional studies; • to demonstrate knowledge of the notion of intellectual property law as rights of a person over the results of his or her intellectual creative activity; • to demonstrate the ability to conduct methodologically correct researches of facts and processes on the international arena integrating knowledge from different spheres of the society; • to demonstrate the ability to apply up-to-date software for the solving of problems related to particular subject domain, especially to international relations; • to demonstrate the ability to apply information technologies and systems in order to exercise constitutional rights and interests; • to demonstrate the ability to distinguish different types of intellectual property law objects such as copyright, industrial property and trademarks. • to demonstrate the ability to use knowledge of intellectual property law on practice in order to deal with professional tasks.

Summary of the subject: Common provisions on intellectual property. Legal regulation in the field of intellectual property. Intellectual property rights transfer. Copyright and allied rights. Industrial property. Means of individualization. Non-traditional objects of intellectual property. Intellectual property rights guard and protection.
Assessment methods and criteria: • formative assessment: oral questioning, written questioning, individual home assignments preparation (40%); • summative assessment: control work in written form (60%).
