Learning outcomes: - know the concept of mediation, its varieties, functions, methods of practical application; - be able to use mediation terminology, including structural elements of communication processes; - understand the concept of the importance of mediation in modern society as an important alternative to litigation - be able to manage problematic situations in resolving disputes, to negotiate between conflicting disputes; - have basic techniques of mediation; - apply mediation techniques in international relations, public communications and regional studies.

Summary of the subject: Mediation in international relations, public communications and regional studies is a discipline studied by students majoring in International Relations, Public Communications and Regional Studies in order to provide students with the ability to negotiate, take preventive measures, resolve conflicts and resolve disputes in various spheres of life. Within the discipline, the main focus is on the study of the following issues and topics: Tasks, purpose, subject and object of mediation; History of mediation: world and Ukrainian experience; Concepts, types and functions, structure of conflicts; Alternative ways of resolving conflicts; Mediator as a specialist: competence and technique; Stages of mediation; Mediation in the spheres of public life; International public mediation, etc.
Assessment methods and criteria: 1. Oral interview, discussion. 2. Assessment of written tasks, answers to practical classes (individual task). 3. Test test.
