Characteristics of the educational program: The emphasis on the development of abilities and skills to solve specialized tasks for occupational safety, ensuring a safe working environment and work process.
The main focus of the program is to gain knowledge about modern methods of solving a set of problems for the protection of human life, health and work ability while working in various professional fields; monitoring and coordination the relevant authorities’ activities of the enterprise (object) which implement the tasks of labor protection; implementation of mechanisms to ensure healthy and safe working conditions, preventive measures against accidents, occupational diseases and accidents at work using risk-based approach methods.
The program provides two lines of professional training:
Line 1. Occupational safety in the service sector and IT industry.
Line 2. Labor protection in the production sphere.
Gained competence: ЗС1. Analyze the issues of history, facts, problems and trends in the development of Ukrainian culture in their dialectical relationship.
ЗС2. Have a culture of thinking, technology of social learning experience at the required level for professional activity.
ЗС3. To analyze the social phenomena and processes at the required level for professional activity, to know normative legal bases of civil protection, occupational safety, issues of normative regulation of measures in the field of civil protection and man-made safety of objects and territories.
ЗС4. Apply the acquired knowledge of the legal basis of civil protection, labor protection in practice.
ZS5. Develop texts and documents on professional activities, communicate in Ukrainian professional language; read and understand professional foreign language literature, using it in social and professional spheres; demonstrate a culture of thinking and skills in organizing cultural dialogue at the level necessary for professional activity.
ЗС6. Explain the processes of harmful and dangerous factors influence that occur during a dangerous situation; apply the theories of population protection, territory and environment from the damaging factors of emergencies, knowledge of mathematical and natural sciences necessary for the professional activity.
ЗС7. Choose the best measures and tools aimed at reducing occupational risk, protecting population, preventing emergencies.
ЗС8. Know the types of automated early warning and alert systems, general technical conditions and requirements for the use of emergency management, communication and alert systems.
ЗС9. Know the properties of combustible substances and materials, the mechanism of combustion and explosion.
УМ1. Provide for environmentally balanced activities, the required level of individual safety and mental health in case of typical dangerous events.
УМ2. Use modern information technologies, database management systems and standard application packages in professional activities.
УМ3. Develop and use technical documentation in particular with the use of modern information technologies.
УМ4. Identify physical, chemical, biological and psychophysiological harmful production factors and analyze the safety of production equipment.
УМ5. Determine the technical condition of external and internal engineering networks and structures to assess their compliance with the requirements of civil protection and safety.
УМ6. Classify substances, materials, products, processes, services and businesses according to their degree of danger.
УМ7. Identify hazards and their possible sources, assess the probability of dangerous events and their consequences.
УМ8. Explain the nomenclature, classification and parameters of the influencing factors of man-made and natural emergencies sources as well as the results of their impacts.
УМ9. Choose the best methods and apply the protection means against the effects of chemical, biological and radiation negative factors.
УМ10. Evaluate technical indicators and determine the condition of emergency rescue technique, communications, equipment and facilities.
УМ11. Analyze and substantiate engineering-technical and organizational measures for civil protection, man-made and industrial safety at facilities and territories.
УМ12. Explain the security requirements for economic entities protection, regulations and requirements for safety, identification, certification and registers of high-risk objects and potentially dangerous objects.
УМ13. Apply civil protection measures: to inform population; protect population in the shelters of civil protection; evacuation population from the emergency zone to safe places and livelihood of the evacuated.
УМ14. Provide safe operation of the gas and smoke protection service, operation of personal protective equipment sets for rescuers.
УМ15. Organize and conduct training of the population to act in emergency situations, classes with the personnel of the unit; to inform specialists and non-specialists about information, ideas, problems, solutions and own experience in the field of professional activity.
УМ16. Explain the conceptual basis of monitoring protected objects and know the automatic systems, devices and equipments designed to control the condition of the monitored object, measure its parameters and store information about its condition.
УМ17. Demonstrate the ability to carry out measures to eliminate emergencies and their consequences, rescue and other urgent work.
KOM1. Ability to communicate, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and foreign languages.
KOM2. Ability to use a variety of methods, including modern information technology for effective communication at the professional and social levels.
Academic mobility: Based on bilateral agreements between Lviv Polytechnic National University and other universities of Ukrain
Work placement(s): During the training, introductory, educational, industrial practice and practice on the topic of bachelor's qualification work are provided.

Occupational profiles of graduates: According to the obtained educational qualification, the bachelor is able to perform professional work in the professions specified in DK 003: 2010 National Classifier of Ukraine. Classifier of professions, namely:
"State Inspector for Civil Protection and Technogenic Safety", code KP 3449; "Specialist in radiation and chemical protection", code KP 3439; "Inspector of labor protection", code KP 3152; "Technical Supervision Engineer", code KP 3152.

Other program features: The program provides two lines of professional training:
Line 1. Occupational safety in the service sector and IT industry.
Provides the basic disciplines study, knowledge of which is to study safe working conditions, human life safety, health and efficiency of people working in the field of health services, education, trade, catering, IT industry and life support facilities for the population.
Line 2. Labor protection in the production sphere.
Provides the basic disciplines study, knowledge of which is necessary to create safe working conditions in the material production area, related to the operation of production equipment, machines and mechanisms, man-made safety, as well as emergency response and elimination of their consequences.
Some courses may be in English. Academic mobility for educational and internship programs in European countries is possible.
