Learning outcomes: - Ability to analyze automation objects based on knowledge of the processes occurring in them and apply the methods of automatic control theory to research, analyze and synthesize automatic control systems. - Ability to apply systems analysis, mathematical modeling, identification and numerical methods to develop mathematical models of individual elements and automation systems in general, to analyze the quality of their operation using the latest computer technologies. - Ability to justify the choice of technical means of automation on the basis of understanding the principles of their work, analysis of their properties, purpose and technical characteristics, taking into account the requirements for the automation system and operating conditions; adjust automation and control systems. -Ability to use the latest technologies in the field of automation and computer-integrated technologies, in particular, to design multilevel control systems, collect data and archive them to form a database of process parameters and visualize them with the help of human-machine interface. - Ability to justify the choice of technical structure and to be able to develop application software for microprocessor control systems based on local automation tools, industrial logic controllers and programmable logic arrays and signal processors. - Ability to design automation systems, taking into account the requirements of relevant regulatory documents and international standards. - Ability to freely use advanced computer and information technology to solve professional problems, program and use applications and specialized computer-integrated environments to solve automation problems. - Ability to take into account social, environmental, ethical, economic, occupational health and safety requirements when designing technical solutions.

Summary of the subject: Description of technological object. Analysis of technological process as a control object. Technical and economic substantiation of the choice of control system structure on the basis of modern domestic and foreign experience. Development of an optimal functional diagram of automation of technological process. Substantiation of the choice of technical devices and instruments for automated process control system. Development of software of selected microprocessor devices and programmable logic controllers for design of control system. Programming of visualization systems. Development of basic electrical circuits of automatic measurement, control, automatic alarm and protection. Identification of the control object, calculation, modeling and simulation of the automatic control system. Calculation of specific automation devices. Formation of specification of automation devices and instruments. Calculation of economic efficiency of the designed control system. Development of measures for labour protection, life safety and environmental protection.
