Learning outcomes: • Ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of social communications and information activities, which involves the application of provisions and methods of social communications and information activities, and are characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions • Skills in the use of information and communication technologies • Ability to use methods of systematization, search, storage, classification of information for different types of content and media • Ability to use modern applied computer technologies, software, network and mobile technologies to solve professional problems • Ability to master and apply technologies of system analysis of information activities • Know and understand the scientific principles of organization, modernization and implementation of new technologies in social communications and information activities • Summarize, analyze and synthesize information in activities related to its search, accumulation, storage and use • Perform appropriate experimental research and apply research skills on professional topics • Evaluate the obtained results and defend the decisions made with arguments • Ability to use a variety of methods, including information technology, for effective communication at the professional and social levels • Ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and acquire new professional knowledge

Summary of the subject: The basics of set theory and mathematical logic are studied in this discipline. Selective data on graph theory, encryption and coding of information, intellectual property in the field of information activities are presented.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory work, oral questioning, examination (30%); • final control (control measure): written-oral form (70%)
