Learning outcomes: The student will be able to: 1. Search, analyze and synthesize information from various sources to solve professional and establish causal links between social events and phenomena 2. Identify, formulate and solve problems in the field of social work, integrate theoretical knowledge and practical experience 3. Theoretically argue ways to overcome problems and difficult life circumstances, choose effective methods to solve them, predict the consequences 4. Critically analyze and evaluate the current social policy of the country, socio-political processes at the national, regional and local levels 5. Use relevant research and apply research skills in the provision of social assistance 6. Use prevention methods to prevent possible mental disorders, behavioral disorders, interpersonal relationships, conflict resolution, prevention of social risks and difficult life circumstances 7. To determine the content of cooperation with partner organizations in social work to perform the tasks of professional activity 8. Use methods of social diagnostics in the process of assessing the problems, needs, specifics and resources of customers

Summary of the subject: Public health in Ukraine and abroad. Traditional medicine, social medicine, social welfare, medical and social assistance. The health care system and indicators that characterize the state and level of health. Health different groups (sex, age, social) population. Social determinants of health and social development. Medical and social bases of health of different groups of clients and social services. Social and health care professionals in social work. Social work in health care and medical institutions
Assessment methods and criteria: • oral interview, participation in discussions, presentation of the portfolio based on the results of 3 individual tasks (40%) • final control (control measure, exam): written and oral form (60%)
