Summary of the subject: The discipline involves the study of normative aspects of modern Ukrainian literary language. Students learn to implement the requirements of the Constitution of Ukraine and other legislative acts on the statehood of the Ukrainian language and its use in professional communication; acquire skills of normative written and oral communication in the state language, master the basic principles of speech culture, norms of the Ukrainian literary language; learn to logically and competently express opinions in the process of professional communication. The study of the discipline involves mastery of stylistic and practical aspects of modern Ukrainian literary language. Applicants study the stages of formation and development of the Ukrainian language; its role as the official state language in the public life of the Ukrainian people; the place of the Ukrainian language among other Slavic and European languages; linguistic characteristics of the modern Ukrainian language, sources of its enrichment and improvement; phonetic, lexicological and grammatical (morphological-syntactic) laws of the Ukrainian language and means of their implementation; scientific (phonetic-word-formation-grammatical) principles of Ukrainian orthography and basic orthographic norms of modern Ukrainian literary language; stylistic and practical aspects of the modern Ukrainian language, its forms (oral and written), literary norms.
