Learning outcomes: 1. Ability to identify the difficulties of multi-genre translation. 2. The ability to identify differences between individual levels and parameters of the original text and translation. 3. The ability to distinguish text-discursive categories that reflect the most significant, prototype characteristics of the text, the interaction of which provides its specificity as a communicative formation in translation. 4. Ability to identify genres and levels of translation. 5. Detailed mastery of various criteria for classification and evaluation of translation and the ability to apply them in research work. 6. Ability to differentiate the components of professional translation. 7. The ability to identify the relationship between the components of speech activity and the nature of translation.

Summary of the subject: Translator training is considered an integral part of this course, and the program focuses on the student's practical work. At the end of the course the student must be able to 1) critically analyze the theoretical linguistic text (Ukrainian and English), determine the main ideas contained in its content by the author; 2) to project theoretical knowledge into the practice of their direct translation analysis and practical work; 3) on the basis of the received theoretical information and with a support on language material to produce own ideas and hypotheses; 4) understand English-language linguistic text of increased complexity and adequately interpret it orally / in writing.

Answers at seminars - 10 points. 2. Execution of control tests in VNS - 20 points 3. Preparation and defense of an abstract from selected research topic - 20 points 100 Examination control (EC) 60 1.
