Learning outcomes: Мastering features of medieval literary process of XI – XVIII centuries ; mastering the methodology of the study of medieval literature; acquiring knowledge of ancient literary monuments in the context of the time of writing, the specific literary works of the Middle Ages; analysis of texts of literature XI – XVIII centuries; critical evaluation of scientific papers on them; the knowledge of thematic and aesthetic categories monuments of the Renaissance, the Reformation and the Baroque;
Required prior and related subjects: Theory of literature; The history of Ukraine and its culture; Ukrainian language.
Summary of the subject: Literary process as a continuous integrity. Place and role of Ukrainian literature in the family of Slavic and European literature. The history of ancient Ukrainian literature, systematic development of genres, styles and ideas, imaginative paradigms.
Assessment methods and criteria: Practical exercises, oral interviews, reference work (45%). Final control (control measure, exam), written-oral form (55%).
