Learning outcomes: know the relationship of the physical properties with their chemical composition and structure, key trends and research of advanced materials, modern methods of management structure and properties of functional materials, means of standard software to process experimental results. • be able to determine the structural parameters and thermal properties; • apply physical theories of modern research methods, techniques of experimentation.
Required prior and related subjects: • prerequisites: mechanics, molecular physics, theoretical mechanics and continuum mechanics, atomic and nuclear physics, quantum mechanics, statistical physics and thermodynamics, solid state physics, physical materials science; • corequisites: physics and nanotechnology, nanomaterials science, impedance spectroscopy, com-puter modeling of physical processes
Summary of the subject: Properties classification. Thermodynamics. Calorimetry. Thermography. Thermal expantion. The internal friction. Density measuring.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports of laboratory work and individual assignments, oral interviews, control test (40%); • final control (60% control measure, differential test)
