Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying the discipline is to equip students with practical skills in conducting research work, in the process of which they would be able to correctly formulate problems, develop and justify ways and methods of their effective solution. Mastering the subject of the discipline will contribute to the proper organization, successful writing and defense of the master's qualification work in the educational program "Management of Social Institutions", specialty 232 "Social Welfare".
Завдання: Іntegral Competence: The ability to solve complex problems and issues in the field of social security or in the process of learning, which involves conducting research and/or implementing innovations and is characterized by uncertainty in conditions and requirements. General Competencies: GC 1. Ability for abstract thinking, analysis, and synthesis. GC 5. Ability to conduct research at an appropriate level. GC 9. Ability to generate new ideas (creativity). GC 10. Ability to work in a team. Professional Competencies: PC 1. Ability to use modern theories, methodologies, and methods of social and other sciences in relation to fundamental and applied research in the field of social security. PC 2. Ability to plan and conduct social research to identify and analyze socially significant problems and factors for achieving social well-being among different population groups.
Learning outcomes: 1. Utilize modern theories, methodology, and methods of social and other sciences in relation to the tasks of fundamental and applied research in the field of social protection. 2. Critically evaluate the results of scientific research and various sources of knowledge about social work practices, formulate conclusions and recommendations for their implementation. 3. Design a theoretical model for working with objects of social security within the framework of social services, organizations, and institutions. 4. Apply general and specialized software to solve professional tasks and conduct scientific research. 5. Plan and conduct scientific research in the system of social protection of the population and document their results.

Summary of the subject: The discipline "Methodology and Methods of Scientific Research" is a mandatory component of the curriculum for students of the 1st year of the second (master's) level of higher education. As a mandatory component, studying this discipline allows students to develop general and professional competencies, as well as master technologies and methods of scientific research in the social sphere. During the study of this discipline, students acquire knowledge and skills regarding the essence of conceptual foundations of methodology and methods of scientific research, information search in scientific research in social management, and argumentation construction in scientific research.

Assessment methods and criteria: Oral and written surveys, discussion of problematic issues, analysis of reports and presentations of individual scientific research work. Teaching methods: Lectures, practical sessions: information-receptive method, reproductive method, heuristic method, problem-based method, verbal method, visual methods. Independent work: reproductive method, research method, verbal method. Control methods: Continuous assessment: completion of mandatory practical work, self-assessment question responses, completion of test tasks, participation in discussions. Summative assessment: presentation of proposals for the master's research.

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 00-88 points - ("excellent") is assigned for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literature sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena studied in their interconnection and development, clearly, concisely, logically, consistently answer the questions posed, the ability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 87-71 points - ("good") is assigned for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 70 - 50 points - ("satisfactory") is assigned for poor knowledge of the educational material of the component, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for poor application of theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is assigned for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 25-00
