Characteristics of the educational program: Professional Education Program is focused on finding out, analyzing and predicting of current trends in international relations and foreign policy of states and/or other participants in international interactions at global, regional and local levels. Students receive thorough Master's training in International Relations and Political Science, Foreign Languages and Practice of Translation.
Curriculum effectively combines theoretical and practical components. Thus, Masters acquire thorough theoretical knowledge of Actual Problems of International Relations and Foreign Policy of Ukraine, International and European Security, Futurology, the European Union Law etc.
Specializm “International Relations” (training is carried out at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Political Science and International Relations). There are two selective blocks of professional training – “Applied research of international political relations” and “Strategic research in international relations”.
Students acquire thorough professional theoretical knowledge and practical skills learning basic methods of international relations research, history and theory of international systems, regional studies, etc. Particular attention is paid to the practical consolidation of theoretical knowledge through the analytical component of training in the field of foreign policy, diplomatic activities and political communication. The priority is the practical component and prognostication of the development of international relations system within the security studies and the studies of actual problems of regional policy and integration, European policies and directions of cross-border cooperation. Students also learn actual problems of global development, such as national, ethnic and migration problems, acquire skills in learning and research activities; improve knowledge of foreign languages (including practice of translation).
Gained competence: • knowledge and understanding of the nature, sources and directions of evolution of international relations, international politics, foreign policy of states, the state of theoretical research of international relations and world politics;
• knowledge and understanding of the scientific principles and research methodology in the field of international relations, social communications and regional studies;
• knowledge and understanding of the highly specialized (political, legal, security, social, communication, etc.) aspects of the development of the modern system of international relations and the place of Ukraine in it;
• knowledge and understanding of the system of domestic and global development;
• knowledge and understanding of the the social and communication aspects of the development of the modern system in international relations;
• critically comprehend and analyze global processes and their impact on international relations;
• apply scientific approaches, methodologies and techniques to study the problems of international relations and foreign policy;
• analyze and evaluate problems of international and national security, international and internationalized conflicts;
• collect, process and analyze information on the state of international relations, world politics and foreign policy of states;
• identify, assess and forecast political, diplomatic, security, social and other risks in the field of international relations and global development;
• assess and analyze international and foreign policy problems and situations, propose approaches to solve such problems;
• speak state and foreign languages orally and in writing of professional and scientific problems
• prepare analytical information, reports, written and oral presentations of scientific and practical content, other documents on the state of international relations, foreign policy, social communications and regional studies;
• develop and implement applied research projects in international relations, foreign and world policy;
• carry out professional oral and written translation from / into a foreign language, in particular, on professional topics of international cooperation, foreign and world policy
• formulate modeling tasks, create and study models of objects and processes of international relations, foreign policy, social communications and regional studies;
• Participate in professional discussions in the field of international relations, foreign policy, social communications and regional studies, respect opponents and their views, convey to professionals and the general social information, ideas, problems, solutions and personal experience on professional issues;
• evaluate the results of own work and be responsible for personal professional development;
• systematically think and creatively interpret events at the global, regional and local levels, taking into account the historical preconditions of their origin and development, the peculiarities of Ukraine's interaction with other countries;
• apply one’s knowledge to advise stakeholders on socio-political development (national and international dimensions);
• defend the patriotic state position on the place of Ukraine in the system of international relations;
• present and discuss the obtained results and transfer the acquired knowledge;
• adapt to new conditions and make decisions independently;
• be aware of the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen and acquire new professional knowledge in accordance with trends in international relations, the formulation of the latest political theories, concepts and interpretations of the international system;

• ability to use foreign languages in practice in the specialty, to conduct direct and reverse translation of documents from foreign languages;

Work placement(s): During Master’s course 12 credits of ECTS are planned for Master's thesis practice.

Is engaged in increasing the efficiency of interaction in the field of international relations and domestic politics through public relations, advertising and information activities.
