Learning outcomes: ability to solve complex tasks and problems in the field of international relations, public communications and regional studies, which involves conducting research and/or implementing innovations and is characterized by the uncertainty of conditions and requirements; ability to learn and master modern knowledge; ability to work in an international context; interpersonal skills, appreciation and respect for diversity and multiculturalism; ability to make informed decisions regarding the implementation of international and foreign policy activities; ability to organize and conduct international meetings and negotiations, develop, analyze and evaluate diplomatic and international documents; ability to properly ensure international cooperation in various areas; evaluate and analyze international and foreign policy problems and situations, propose approaches to solving such problems; prepare analytical reports, reports, written and oral presentations of scientific and practical content, other documents on the state of international relations, foreign policy, public communications and regional studies; participate in professional discussions in the field of international relations, foreign policy, public communications and regional studies, respect opponents and their points of view, convey information, ideas, problems, solutions and own experience on professional problems to specialists and the general public; to know and understand highly specialized (political, legal, security, social, communication, etc.) aspects of the development of the modern system of international relations and Ukraine's place in it; apply their knowledge to advise interested persons on issues of social and political development (national and international dimensions); in communications, defend a patriotic statesman's position regarding the place of Ukraine in the system of international relations.

Summary of the subject: Negotiations as science and art. Features of the negotiation process. Psychology of the negotiation process. Emotions in negotiations. Stages of the negotiation process. The team in negotiations. Negotiation models: cases of bargaining, partnership, distribution, confrontation negotiations. Mediation in the negotiation process. Concepts, principles and features of mediation in international negotiations. Mediator as a profession: functions, tasks, principles of activity. Negotiating culture and its components. National styles in the negotiation process. Negotiations in the modern world.
Assessment methods and criteria: a. Current control (40% - oral examination, reports, discussions, writing essays, case-study research, preparation of presentations on a given topic). b. Final control (60% - examination).
