Learning outcomes: RN 4. analyze and evaluate international and national security problems, international and internationalized conflicts, approaches, methods and mechanisms for ensuring security in the international space and in the foreign policy of states; RN 6. to identify, assess and forecast political, diplomatic, security, public and other risks in the field of international relations and global development; RN 16. know and understand highly specialized (political, legal, security, social, communication, etc.) aspects of the development of the modern system of international relations and Ukraine's place in it; RNS 2.3 Combine theory and practice, as well as make decisions and develop an activity strategy taking into account specific areas and trends in the development of international relations, especially in the field of energy security. Kom 2. the ability to defend a patriotic statesmanship position regarding the place of Ukraine in the system of international relations in communications. Kom 3. the ability to present and discuss the obtained results and transfer the acquired knowledge. AiV 1. ability to adapt to new conditions and make appropriate decisions; AiV 2. the ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen acquired and acquire new professional knowledge; AiV 3. the ability to take responsibility for the work performed, to make decisions independently, to achieve the set goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics.

Summary of the subject: Course content: National and International Security: the nature and main challenges. State energy security and the problem of its ensuring. Global energy security: history, current status, challenges and perspectives. Main energy carriers in the world: reserves dynamics and conflict potential. Nuclear energy: international legal regulation and major risks. International organizations in energy sector and their activities in ensuring of international security. The EU energy security. European Energy Charter. Ukraine energy security: strategy and mechanisms of support.
Assessment methods and criteria: Planned learning activities and teaching methods: lectures, workshops, individual work, writing test. Assessment methods and criteria: Current control (40%): oral examination, speeches at seminars, writing test (exam- 60%).
