Learning outcomes: Learning results: to know and understand the nature, sources and directions of the evolution of international relations, international politics, the foreign policy of states, the state of theoretical studies of international relations and world politics; apply modern scientific approaches, methodologies and methods for researching problems of international relations and foreign policy; analyze and evaluate international and national security problems, international and internationalized conflicts, approaches, methods and mechanisms for ensuring security in the international space and in the foreign policy of states; collect, process and analyze information about the state of international relations, world politics and foreign policy of states; identify, assess and forecast political, diplomatic, security, social and other risks in the field of international relations and global development; evaluate and analyze international and foreign policy problems and situations, propose approaches to solving such problems; to systematically think and creatively interpret events at the global, regional and local levels, taking into account the historical prerequisites of their emergence and development, the peculiarities of Ukraine's interaction with other countries of the world; analyze, model and forecast the foreign policy of states, integrating knowledge from other disciplines, using collected and generalized information and analytical materials regarding a specific international situation; to have the ability to defend a patriotic statesman's position regarding the place of Ukraine in the system of international relations in communications; be able to present and discuss the obtained results and carry out the transfer of acquired knowledge; have the ability to adapt to new conditions and make appropriate decisions; have the ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen acquired and acquire new professional knowledge; to have the ability to take responsibility for the work performed, to make decisions independently, to achieve the set goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics.

Summary of the subject: Place of foreign policy analysis, prognosis and planning in practical activity. Strategic analysis: functional and conceptual peculiarities. System of foreign policy analysis and prognosis in the structure of state machinery in European, American and Asian countries. Ways and manners of influence of “think tanks” on the formation of foreign policy. “Think tanks’, secret services and their role in foreign policy. Secret services, role in formation of strategy and tactics of foreign policy. Strategic analysis of conflicts. Investigation of stability parameters of international systems. Methods of analysis of organizational systems. Application of methods of analysis and prognosis of foreign policy activities
Assessment methods and criteria: • Current control: (40%) questioning, presentations at the seminars, essay writing. • Final control: (60%) exam (three-level testing)
