Learning outcomes: ability to solve complex tasks and problems in the field of international relations, public communications and regional studies, which involves conducting research and/or implementing innovations and is characterized by the uncertainty of conditions and requirements; ability to conduct research at the appropriate level; ability to learn and master modern knowledge; ability to identify, pose and solve problems; ability to argue the choice of ways to solve tasks of a professional nature, critically evaluate the obtained results and justify the decisions made. ability to use theoretical and methodological approaches of political science, economic and legal science, and interdisciplinary research for the study of international relations, public communications, and regional studies; ability to carry out applied analytical research on the problems of international relations and world politics, public communications, regional studies, professionally prepare analytical materials and references. to know and understand the nature, sources and directions of the evolution of international relations, international politics, the foreign policy of states, the state of theoretical studies of international relations and world politics; critically understand and analyze global processes and their impact on international relations; apply modern scientific approaches, methodologies and methods for researching problems of international relations and foreign policy; collect, process and analyze information about the state of international relations, world politics and foreign policy of states; to develop and implement applied research projects of international relations, foreign and world politics; formulate modeling tasks, create and research models of objects and processes of international relations, foreign policy, public communications and regional studies; know and understand scientific principles and research methodology in the field of international relations, public communications and regional studies; to be aware of the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and acquire new professional knowledge in accordance with the trends in the development of international relations, the formulation of the latest political theories, concepts and interpretations of the international system; to take a responsible attitude to professional duties and achieve the set goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics.
Required prior and related subjects: Co-requisites: Current issues of Ukraine's foreign policy and international relations. European Union law. Religious factor in international relations.
Summary of the subject: The problem of choosing a methodology for studying the problems of international relations. Methods used at the theoretical and empirical levels of analysis of international relations. Scientific methods of theoretical research: general logical research methods (analysis, synthesis, abstraction, induction, deduction, generalization, etc.), new institutionalism, historical method, system method, axiological analysis, psychological method, game theory, network analysis, case studies etc. Scientific methods of empirical research: analysis of documents (content analysis), surveys (questionnaires and interviews), the method of expert evaluations.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control (40%): oral examination, reports, discussions, writing essays, case-study research, preparation of presentations on a given topic). Final control (60%): examination.
