Learning outcomes: To know: - Basic methodological problems of psychology, specific signs of post-non-classical stage of development of psychology, basic research tendencies national psychology, prospects for the integration of psychology in the context of methodological pluralism; - General and special (partial) methodological principles of scientific research in psychology; - The typology of objects of psychological research and approaches to determining the object, purpose, objectives of the research; - Stages of preparation, carrying out, processing and interpretation of the results of scientific research; - Terminology of psychological science; - Types of descriptions of the results of scientific psychological research. To be able to: - Distinguish the methodological component of the phenomena of psychological knowledge; - to specify general principles and leading conceptual provisions in accordance with the requirements of a specific task, a specific situation; - Determine the purpose and objectives of scientific search, taking into account the state of science and the need for practice; - Develop appropriate methodological procedures for conducting the research; - To analyze the literature on the subject of scientific research as a prerequisite for scientific search; - To structure theoretical and methodological knowledge, to have modeling skills; - To evaluate the methodological validity of modern scientific research in the psychological field; - choose a scientific direction; - Formulate a hypothesis and tasks of scientific and practical psychological research; - To choose adequate scientific and psychological methods of research; - Choose the type of research that is appropriate to the specific professional tasks that are solved experimentally.

Summary of the subject: The course aims to give postgraduate students an idea of the specificity of psychological research, the features, opportunities and limitations of the application of basic methods of psychological research. The course allows you to acquire practical skills in program development, planning and implementation of psychological research using different methods and methodological tools. The course has a pronounced integrative and applied focus. It based on modern ideas about empirical psychology, taking into account recent advances in the theory and practice of psychological research. Immediate practical importance of the training course is to prepare the graduate students final qualification work and further independent scientific activity. This course contributes to the formation of research thinking, interest in the professional field and consolidation of professional ethical attitudes of the future specialist.
Assessment methods and criteria: - Current control: written reports of practical work, oral questioning; - Final control: differentiated test. The maximum score - 100 points.
