Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student must be able to demonstrate the following program learning outcomes: Know and understand the scientific principles underlying the functioning of computer tools, systems and networks. Know the latest technologies in the field of computer engineering. Be able. apply knowledge to identify, formulate and solve technical problems of the specialty, using methods that are most suitable for achieving the set goals. Be able to think systematically and apply creative abilities to the formation of new ideas. Be able to apply knowledge of technical characteristics, design features, purpose and rules of operation of software and technical means of computer systems and networks to solve technical problems of the specialty. Be able to identify, classify and describe the operation of computer systems and their components.
Required prior and related subjects: Associated and following academic disciplines: Basics of algorithmization and programming; Computer logic.
Summary of the subject: The study of the academic discipline involves lectures and practical classes and laboratory work. The lectures cover 5 topics: the history of the development of computer technology, the basics of information processing, the principles of computer organization and construction, computer hardware and computer software. Practical classes consolidate the skills of performing operations in the binary numbering system, and laboratory classes - to study the functioning of the Fonneiman computer.
Assessment methods and criteria: Oral survey during students' work in small groups during lectures and laboratory classes. Written control and oral component of the exam, computer testing, defense of laboratory work.
