Learning outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will:
know classifications of peripherals and interfaces, key characteristics of peripherals and interfaces, principles of development of peripherals and interfaces;
develop skills in Internet of Things (IoT) products and services;
understand usage of various peripherals and interfaces within specific computer systems;
be able to choose structures of peripheral subsystem of computer systems, hardware components, select or develop software drivers for peripheral devices knowing the technical requirements

Summary of the subject: Key definitions and classifications of peripherals and their interfaces;
Basic knowledge of Internet of Things (IoT) products and services;
Communication lines basic characteristics, their composition and assignment, features of the information exchange and implementation of basic operations in serial interfaces of peripherals;
Communication lines basic characteristics, their composition and assignment, features of the information exchange and implementation of basic operations in parallel interfaces of peripherals;
Communication lines basic characteristics, their composition and assignment, features of the information exchange and implementation of basic operations in specialized interfaces of peripherals;
Physical principles of information storage, writing, reading; features, main technical characteristics and principles of construction and operation of magnetic, optical and semiconductor external storage devices;
Classification, key specifications, features of design and operation of the Input/output devices for text and graphic information;
Classification, key specifications, features of design and operation of the language Input/output devices;
Key principles of peripherals drivers design
Assessment methods and criteria: Routine checks: written reports on laboratory works, oral examination, independent work examination (30%);
Final control (control measure, examination): written-oral form (70%).
