Learning outcomes: Program competencies: • knowledge of the basic laws of atmospheric physics, the laws of radiation, the thermal balance of the Earth. Understanding of methods of synoptic meteorology. • knowledge of the laws of self-development of Nature, the relationship of man with the biosphere, the functioning of ecosystems, the biochemical cycle of chemical elements. • formation of knowledge on the definition of geographical, geophysical, climatic, man-made factors influencing the habitat of the human population in order to preserve and restore human adaptation mechanisms in the context of man-made progress. Program results: • be able to use knowledge of the processes of solar radiation, water cycle, cloudiness and precipitation, necessary for forecasts of weather and ecoclimate. Learning outcomes: • Study the structure of the atmosphere and its role in society; • A combination of human society, and air pollution; • Know the processes of solar radiation, water cycle, cloudiness and precipitation; • Know the weather and the formation of weather, climate and ekoclimate.
Required prior and related subjects: • Hydrology; • Geology and basics of geomorphology • Reserve management and studies.
Summary of the subject: Methods of meteorology and climatology. Chemical and vertical structure of the atmosphere. Physics of the atmosphere. Solar radiation. Radiation laws. The heat balance of the Earth. Water in the atmosphere. Cloudiness. Precipitations and fallout. Wind. The speed and direction of wind. The total circulation of the atmosphere. The pressure field. Synoptic Meteorology. Climatology.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Current control, oral examination (30%) • final control (control measure, exam), written-oral form (70%)
