Major: Environmental Studies
Code of subject: 6.101.02.E.089
Credits: 6.00
Department: Ecology and Sustainable Environmental Management
Lecturer: PhD, Assoc. Prof., Wenger Lyubov
Semester: 7 семестр
Mode of study: денна
Learning outcomes: Program competencies: • formation of knowledge on the definition of geographical, geophysical, climatic, man-made factors influencing the habitat of the human population in order to preserve and restore human adaptation mechanisms in the context of man-made progress. • ability to assess the risk to human health from xenobiotics and adaptive capacity of populations to man-made pollution. Program results: • ability to assess the degree of danger of ecotoxicant effects on living organisms. Learning outcomes: 1. Introduction to the action of harmful chemicals, that are found in the environment on living organisms and their populations that are part of the ecosystem. 2. Study of physico-chemical and toxic nature of major groups eco-toxicants pressure.
Required prior and related subjects: • Meteorology and Climatology, • Human ecology, • Urban ecology, • Technoecology.
Summary of the subject: The purpose of discipline is to form presenting theoretical understanding and knowledge of future experts environmental impact of exogenous toxicants on living organisms, their reaction to the effects of dangerous chemicals, the mechanisms of action adaptation of organisms to xenobiotics and counteract them. The student must master the scientific principles of hazard assessment of chemicals on living organisms and anticipate the negative consequences of this action. To develop some practical skills assessment degree of danger of influence and bases its valuation.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Поточний контроль, усне опитування (30%) • підсумковий контроль (контрольний захід, екзамен): письмово-усна форма (70%)
