Learning outcomes: to obtain the knowledge about manufacturing, rational use and influence of fuel quality, lubricants and technical liquids on the engine of motor vehicles. - Organizing the rational use of fuel and lubricant materials for road transport. - Solution the problem of the environment pollution by fuel and lubricant materials.
Required prior and related subjects: organic chemistry, physics, theoretical mechanics, material science.
Summary of the subject: to increase the manufacturing and improve the operating raw quality for producing fuel and lubricant materials, its chemical compound. - The main gasoline operating properties: the requirements for the motor gasoline, gasoline properties that define the formation fuel-air mixture, combustion process. - Methods of the gasoline detonation stability increasing. - Kinds and brands of diesel fuels and its characteristics. - Foreign classification of the diesel fuels. - Fuels for the gas cylinder engines. - Alternative motor fuels: obtaining, advantage and disadvantage. - Oils for greasing the inner combustion engines and transmissions. - Operational and technical properties of the grease lubricants and main quality indicators. - Special and cooling fluids for engine cooling system, hydraulic drives, shock absorbers, thermostats and jacks. -The measures to save fuels and lubricants. - Utilization and regeneration waste fuel-lubricating materials.
Assessment methods and criteria: written report about laboratory work, oral questioning, evaluation test (30%), general evaluation test: oral and written form (70%).
