Credits: 8.00
Department: Transport Technologies
Lecturer: Ph.D, associate professor Yurii Roiko
Semester: 7 семестр
Mode of study: денна
Learning outcomes: • know the theoretical basis for the movement of traffic on streets and roads with desired levels of safety, transport efficiency and comfort, environmental schemes of traffic, download highways; • be able to apply methods for solving problems of traffic management on the basis of a systematic approach to the study of traffic conditions on the basis of functional design features of objects and technical means of traffic; • be aware of the schemes of the road, the stages of design and methods to improve.
Required prior and related subjects: • Supplying information to roadway users • Fundamentals of theories of transportation processes and systems • Technology for traffic engineering • Urban transport planning • Road safety
Summary of the subject: Traffic management at intersections and sections of streets and roads. Adjust the speed limits and traffic management. Features of schemes of traffic at intersections traffic lights signaling means. Calculation of traffic light cycle and its elements. Road network. Integrated transport scheme. Cycling as an important trend in traffic management.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports from laboratory and practical work, spoken survey, control work (40%); • final control (60%, control examination, exam): written-spoken form (60%)
