Learning outcomes: - to know the organizational and legal foundations of rational nature management; the main provisions of the doctrine of the biosphere; - use modern measures to protect the atmospheric air, water basin, soil, flora and fauna; - to realize the inseparable relationship between society and nature, production and the environment, as well as the need for its harmonization. - substantiate the principles of creating ecologically clean technological processes of production; - in practice, highlight the ideas of greening in the construction and operation of highways and the organization of traffic; - to be an organizer and participant in environmental protection work at enterprises.

Summary of the subject: Legal basis of environmental protection activities. Impact of motor vehicles on ecosystems. Environmental pollution by road transport. Exhaust gases of internal combustion engines. Environmental pollution by road transport. Noise pollution. Environmental pollution by road transport. Electromagnetic radiation and vibrations. The impact of vehicle tires on the environment. Disposal of cars. Methods of determining the concentration of harmful substances in the air basin of cities and ways of reducing them. Methods of determining the noise characteristics of traffic flows The influence of the technical condition and operating conditions of the vehicles on the environmental performance. The impact of traffic pollution on people and the environment. Methods of improving the environmental performance of cars.
Assessment methods and criteria: - written reports of laboratory work, oral examination, and reference work (40%); - final control (exam): written, oral form (60%).
