Learning outcomes: The study of an academic discipline involves the formation and development of students' competencies: General: 1. Basic knowledge of the fundamental sections of mathematics, to the extent necessary for mastering the mathematical apparatus of the relevant field of knowledge, the ability to use mathematical methods in the chosen profession (ZK5); 2. Basic knowledge in the field of informatics and modern information technologies; skills in using software tools and skills in working in computer networks, the ability to create databases and use Internet resources (ZK6); 3. Computer skills and information management (ZK11); 4. Research skills (ZK12). The learning outcomes of this discipline detail the following program learning outcomes: 1. Development of statistical information on indicators of transport systems and transport processes; 2. Research and design of traffic organization schemes; 3. Development of complex transport schemes; 4. Evaluation of the interaction of transport networks and nodes; 5. Summary of the causes and consequences of intensive motorization; 6. Analyze directions of development of transport systems in urbanized areas
Required prior and related subjects: - Fundamentals of the theory of transport processes and systems - Organization of traffic, part 1 and part 2 - Traffic safety - Methods and models of traffic management - Basics of traffic safety - Information support for road users
Summary of the subject: During the study of this educational discipline, the student acquires theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in conducting various studies of movement indicators and predicting their changes over time. Simulation modeling methods are used in order to determine the relationship between the main parameters of the traffic flow and further predict the dynamics of their changes under the influence of traffic environment conditions.
Assessment methods and criteria: Students' knowledge is assessed using the following methods: 1. Protection of reports for practical work in written form by conducting a control event on the subject of the work in the form of a test. 2. Conducting intermediate tests in the Virtual Learning Environment of the Lviv Polytechnic National University. 3. Conducting a written exam based on the results of studying the discipline, which consists of three-level theoretical and practical tasks. 4. Carrying out the oral component based on the results of the written exam, the questions of which are based on the content of practical tasks.
