Learning outcomes: • ability to use methods of transient processes analysis in linear electric circuits;
• ability to analyze steady-state modes and transient processes in electric circuits with distributed parameters;
• knowledge of nonlinear electric and magnetic circuits theory;
• ability to use mathematical methods and computer simulation to analyze nonlinear electric and magnetic circuits;
• knowledge of electromagnetic field theory bases;
• usage of electromagnetic field theory to calculate capacity, conductance and inductance of electric engineering devices.

• Fundamentals of Programming and Software for Engineering Calculations;
• Theoretical Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering, Part 1.
Summary of the subject: Transient processes in linear electric circuits with lumped parameters and methods of their analysis. Electric circuit with distributed parameters. Non-linear electric and magnetic DC and AC circuits. Transformer with ferromagnetic core, equations and equivalent circuit. Rectification of AC. Fundamentals of theory of electromagnetic field. Alternating-current rectifier. Bases of electromagnetic field theory.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Individual task, written reports on laboratory course, oral questioning (30%);
• final control (control event – exam): written and oral form (70%).
