Learning outcomes: • know the basic MATLAB’s toolboxes and understand their functions; • be able to identify and describe the work of a typical electromechanical and electrical systems and their components by use the MATLAB’s tools; • be able to effectively apply MATLAB’s toolboxes to research and systems modeling, analysis and visualization of results of numerical experiments, analysis and synthesis of control systems; • be able to carry out experimental research and examine the results.
Required prior and related subjects: • Fundamentals of programming and software for engineering calculations. • Further Mathematics. • Automatic Control Theory. • Electrical machine.
Summary of the subject: The fundamentals of MATLAB. The tools of Control System Toolbox to analyzes of linear systems. Model identification and parameters estimation by use of System Identification Toolbox. The optimization problems solving among the tools of Optimization Toolbox. Fundamentals of systems investigation in SIMULINK. Synthesis and Analysis of intelligent controllers using Neural Network Toolbox and Fuzzy Logic Toolbox. Synthesis of controller by Nonlinear Control Systems Toolbox, Robust Control Toolbox, Model Predictive Control Toolbox . Modeling, research and analysis of electromechanical and electrical systems by tools of SimElectronics SimPowerSystems.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory works, oral questioning (70%) • final control (control measure - test): test (30%)
