Learning outcomes: 1. Be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in one of the areas of power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics, namely: systems of transmission and consumption of electricity; 2. Be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills in conducting experiments, data collection and modeling in the systems of transmission and consumption of electricity; 3. To be able to demonstrate knowledge of the current state of affairs and the latest technologies of transmission and consumption of electricity in the field of electricity, electrical engineering and electromechanics; 4. Be able to apply knowledge and understanding to solve problems of synthesis and analysis in the systems of transmission and consumption of electricity, which are characteristic of the chosen specialization; 5. Be able to apply knowledge of technical characteristics, design features, purpose and rules of operation of equipment and facilities for transmission and consumption of electricity to solve technical problems of the specialty; 6. Be able to identify, classify and describe the operation of transmission systems and consumption of electricity and their components; 7. Be able to perform appropriate experimental research on the transmission and consumption of electricity and apply research skills on professional topics.
Required prior and related subjects: prerequisites: • Modern systems for transmitting electricity; • Energy management; corequisites: • Engineering of industrial and individual electrical systems of alternative energy; • Fundamentals of electromagnetic compatibility.
Summary of the subject: The concepts of modes of systems of transmission and consumption of electric energy and methods of their calculations are considered. The most important problems of non-sinusoidal, asymmetric and abruptly changing modes are stated, as well as the procedure for calculating their main indicators. Peculiarities of reactive power compensation in power transmission and consumption systems are given. The questions of influence of modes of systems of transfer and consumption of the electric power quality of electric energy are considered.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory works, oral questioning (30%), cash-graphic work (10%); • final control (control measure – exam): written and oral form (60%).
