Learning outcomes: • Have the skills to isolate, identify, store, cultivate, immobilize biological agents, optimize nutrient media, choose the best methods of analysis, isolation and purification of the target product, using modern biotechnological methods and techniques specific to a particular area of ??biotechnology. • Introduce the most effective biotechnological methods and techniques into practical production activities based on the evaluation of the effectiveness of advanced biotechnologies and taking into account the general trends in the development of new biotechnologies in leading countries. • Evaluate, analyze and select solutions for the management of complex biotechnological processes, taking into account the goals, constraints, forecasts and risks. • Ability to use a variety of methods, including modern information technology, for effective communication at the professional and social levels. • Ability to adapt to new situations and make appropriate decisions. • Ability to be responsible in the work performed, to make decisions independently, to achieve the goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: Modern application of biotechnological methods (bioindustry) / Modeling and scaling of biotechnological productions in the GMP system. Co-requisites: Biosafety and control methods in biotechnology.
Summary of the subject: Technology systems and process organization. Components of biotechnological processes. Classification of microbial synthesis products. Scheme for the production of antibiotics in the process of microbiological synthesis. Industrial production of amino acids - primary metabolite of microbial synthesis products. Industrial production of probiotics - one of the products of microbial synthesis. Industrial production of bakery yeast - one of the products of microbial synthesis and the technology of making bread. Industrial production of sugar confectionery products. Industrial production of macaroni products. Malt technology. Technology of beer. Wine technology. Alcohol technology. Technology of vodka and liqueur products. Technology of production of non-alcoholic beverages. Technology of fish canning.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on practical works - 10 points, test control - 10 points, individual work - 30 points; • Final control - 50 points (control measure, score): written oral form.
